Max Hill QC is Head of Red Lion Chambers, the former leader of the South Eastern Circuit and former chair of the Criminal Bar Association. Max is an effective multi-talented barrister and has built his reputation prosecuting in many of the most significant terrorism trials of the past decade. He was instructed in the last IRA case in the UK, a series of Al Qaeda and then ISIS terrorist trials from 2004 to date and all three trials resulting from the ‘21/7’ plot. Max is also an academic advisor for the Curriculum for Cohesion, working with schools and communities to identify and reduce radicalisation, and to further greater cohesion between Muslim and other communities. In March 2017, Max was appointed the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation, responsible for reviewing the Terrorism Acts and associated legislation throughout the United Kingdom.
